Tesla Blows Out Q2 Expectations & Surges
PLUS: US Ships Yellen as Muscle To China
GM and BRRR.
With markets open for an abbreviated session following a quiet news weekend, we’re sending an abbreviated email today. Happy 4th of July!
On Sunday, Tesla announced it delivered 466,000 cars in Q2, about 20,000 more than expectations. The stock is up over 7% today on the news.
Coinbase is also surging 7% today, as BlackRock’s chosen custody solution shrugs off Friday’s report of the SEC’s initial displeasure with the BlackRock ETF submission.
In macro and geopolitical news, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is flying out to Beijing later this week. Yellen is expected to discuss a range of issues including: China's ban on US-made microchips, human rights concerns in Xinjiang, China's new counterespionage law, US restrictions on China's access to advanced technology, investment restrictions, ongoing tariffs, US attempts to diversify its supply chain away from China, China's reluctance to renegotiate debt terms for poorer countries, and China's weakening currency.
Do you think BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF is approved by the end of the year? |
